Integrevise for Texas A&M University

Turn core communication outcomes into evidence faculty can review.

Texas A&M’s core framework requires courses to address and assess written, oral and visual communication. Integrevise adds a short adaptive discussion after submitted work, giving faculty reviewable evidence of what each student can explain, justify and connect while the instructor retains academic judgment.

One practical evidence layer

Support authentic assessment without adding a live viva to every submission.

Integrevise works from materials teaching teams already use. It creates a structured opportunity for explanation while academic judgment remains with the university.

For Texas A&M

Add explanation beside existing artifacts.

Create a consistent record of student explanation that can sit beside core artifacts, without changing Texas A&M’s rubrics or formal assessment process.

For faculty

Retain every assessment decision.

Use the existing brief, rubric and submission to support a short discussion, then review the resulting evidence in context.

For students

Make reasoning part of the record.

Give students space to explain choices in their own words, surface gaps in understanding and receive targeted feedback tied to submitted work.

Early evidence, clearly bounded

A practical approach with preliminary university evidence.

A published, multi-cycle study at one private US liberal-arts college offers preliminary qualitative evidence that post-submission oral verification can surface comprehension gaps and implementation issues. It does not establish broad efficacy or scalability.

Texas Core Curriculum alignment

Texas A&M sets the expectation. Integrevise adds a reviewable explanation layer.

Texas A&M’s core framework includes effective development, interpretation and expression of ideas through written, oral and visual communication. In the 2025–26 assessment cycle, oral communication was assessed for every Cohort C course, with results scheduled for fall 2026. This is a communication-competency and assessment requirement, not a requirement for vivas or oral examinations.

Integrevise adds an optional, reviewable record of what a student can explain, justify and defend after submitting work. It can sit alongside existing artifacts and rubrics while faculty retain integrity procedures, assessment decisions and academic judgment.
